Subject: You’re a flippin’ idiot

Good morning my dear, naive friend,

I hope you’re enjoying a breakfast of regret and sorrow.

Because you sent me to work for Dean Harper, aka a control freak in a tailor-made suit. Sure he owns the trendiest restaurants in NYC, but c’mon Jo, his ego makes Kanye West look like the Dalai Lama.

He’s the type of guy that only hears the word “no” when it’s followed by “don’t stop.”

Working for Dean Harper would be like selling my soul to the devil…and before you say anything, I don’t care if the devil has punch-you-in-the-gut brown eyes and an ass to match. My soul isn’t for sale.

Regretfully yours,

The Allure of Dean Harper is a full-length standalone romance with overlapping characters from The Allure of Julian Lefray. Both books can be read separately. Chronologically, The Allure of Julian Lefray happens first.

Eek!! I was so excited to read this! Why why why?? Because he’s Dean Harper who is a successful entrepreneurship in culinary business. We could see a glimpse of him in the previous book, The Allure of Julia Lefray. Dean and Julian is BFF and business partner. When Lily Black came to his world, Dean couldn’t stand the sight of her. Dean is very strict and control freak for everything. She came from Texas to search for a job within’ her talent. Yes, Lily is a very talented woman in culinary and destined to meet Dean. When he try to know his ‘enemy’, he knows that this woman would shattered all his control slowly but sure.

Lily is a straight forward person but she isn’t naive. She’s hard working person and never give up, which is a kick-ass combination for a 23 yo woman. Working together with Dean is her first real job in NYC. And her dream in culinary world. Dean is quite charming in the first book. Easy going person and flirty around women. With Lily, he turns to be an asshole. He’s hard person to work for. Demanding bastard. But now, Lily like a whirlwind in his world and ultimately, in his mind. Somehow for 33 yo, Dean acted like a child. He’s not mature when it comes with relationship. His entire world only for business. Until he realized that without someone who support and love him, he will end up alone.

“If only she and I could shut up for ten minutes, the sex would be the best of our lives. Angry. Hard. Fast. Not love.
Not even close.

WOW I KNEW IT!!! They’re like fire and oil. They’re burning for each other but hard to be together. Yes, that is Lily and Dean. I liked their Hate-Love relationship. From enemies-lovers, they’re quite a pair. Lily isn’t a shy person and embrace her curiosity and go for it. It was suppose to be no-string-attached kind of sex. But in the end, Lily and Dean grow their feeling slowly and couldn’t deny it again. Their sizzling chemistry is real. It was slow burn relationship. They’re keep biting each other with playful tension and it was quite intense.

R.S. Grey really know how to make flirty romance without too-much-sugar. The Allure of Dean Harper is a 3 stars solid read for me. It was sexy, entertaining and has a little suspense. Their fun romantic adventure is enjoyable. Don’t forget about the cameo from Jo and Julian. They’re such a lovey-dovey in this book. I have some minor issues with the story. First, I think i need more detail about their sexual attraction *cough*. It was skipped too much. Second, i know that Lily is a spitfire than Jo, especially about career. I want she has his own world beside with Dean, maybe her success in food blogging (Like Jo still has her blog and job with Vogue while she still with Julian). Overall it was a light fluffy read and i still would love to recommend this 😉

#2 ~ The Allure of Dean Harper:  Paperback • Amazon US

I am a lover of books, chocolate, reality TV, black labs, and cold weather. Seriously, if I had it my way I would be curled up on the couch with all of those things…everyday.

I live in Texas where I spend my free time writing and reading. My favorite authors are Mindy Kaling & Jonathan Safran Foer. I’m a comedy geek and love all things funny. Women like Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, and Mindy Kaling are definitely the biggest inspirations for my writing, though I think my work tends to skew a bit smuttier than theirs.
