Are people born pure?

Is evil learned, or is it birthed into one’s soul, like a fallen angel who was previously part of graciousness?

Rhys is decayed, black, and bad. He cut distortion out of his life years before, but he let her live; his only way to gain redemption once more.

As his sinful needs blanket him with dread, he seeks penance from the soul he saw as a second chance.

Is absolution too late for Rhys?

REVIEW BY ALEXA

”One, two, Bad Boy is coming for you.
Three, four, Little Girl it’s too late to lock your door.
Five, six, Bad boy is about to show you sick.
Seven, eight, Bad Boy is gonna filet you like steak.
Nine, ten, never see Momma or Daddy again.”

“The angel tried so hard to find peace, but deep down, every time she saw the face of her lover, all she saw was him. Nightmares surged through her veins, for she would never change. He had a piece of her soul.”

REVIEW BY ALEXA

First make sure you’ve read the warning from the author before deciding to read this book. Twice!!! Even It has been seven months from the first book and I still couldn’t move on from nightmares and tension created by Mary and Ashleigh. So, what will you get from this second book that will surely challenge your limits?

  • Multiple POV. This book will give you much more than the first book. The shifting between POV was smooth, continuous and didn’t contain scene repetition from the previous.
  • Strong character, memorable and complicated. The power from this both author is how they give a breath for imperfect character who use their own skin for hiding. Hide from their darkest mind. There were some mysterious characters from book #1 made appearance.
  • Dramatic plot and full of surprises. This book give a roller coaster ride with non-stop twist for angst lover.
  • Mixed feeling. This dark duo will play with your nightmares, force to think, and face your fears which you wouldn’t find it with other books.
  • Beautiful happy ending, yet still controversial.

REVIEW BY ALEXA

“Once upon a time, the little gypsy princess had dreams within the hellacious concrete jungle. But, dreams would soon turn into nightmares and darkness would be the only way she lived. The tarnished, unlovable girl promised herself she wouldn’t remember the day she was broken, but like all bad things, it would sidle up as hopelessness snaked its way around her heart, killing her slowly.”

Do you ever feel have found a book that embodies all fears in your life? When all conflicts seem further complicated and never-ending? Have you? Believe me, you might change your mind after you read this story. This book gives me the creeps in the good way. Made me think again that the gravest threat in the world wasn’t a ghost, monster or supernatural things, but the human beings. They can hurt you with a smiles, secrets, words and deeds. They have all the mentally ill and irregularities. They could hide their darkest feelings and thoughts behind money and looks. Well, they live among us.

We will meet the most complicated (anti) hero and heroine with unusual personality. They emerged from our nightmare and there is always a reason behind what they’ve done. They look attractive with all powers and the darkest charms. They are a pair who have mutual needs, healing but also destroy each other in the process.

Svetlana aka Lettie is a brokeheart girl. Born from a crack-whore and a cruel father who is also pimp and drug addicts, she underwent harsh and bloody street life. She became a prostitute since teenager and already numb with violence, humiliation, and degradation. She has been through from a customer with gore fetish until gang rapes. There is no hope for her.

Caesar is an enchanting embodiment of the silent angel of death. He is a Spanish, charismatic mature man with complex personality. His profession seems so evil because he manipulate the peace to everyone who needs his services. He kills people with kisses and tenderness.

Whisper to me and I will scream at your soul. Whispers of lies and moaning truths, love is a language in which I am not versed.

Mateo is Caesar’s right hand also nephew. He is so handsome with beautiful body full of tattoos. He is friendly, alluring and attentive but he also a dominant and so sick. He loves Svetlana with all his heart. Unfortunately, he had never love a girl with beating heart and pulse before.

Delicious misery unfolded before the jealous beast. Beating hearts thrashed faster as he prayed for a wicked release.

I usually do not enjoy a book which is written by two authors because they have different style. But Goodbye Man written so beautiful with amazing detail and perfection. Honestly I can’t tell which scene written by each author. The endless conflicts on this book is really crazy. It was hundreds of bombs! Each chapter will give you a mix of horror and fascination. The Goodbye Man will give you fear and goosebumps but take you to another level in the depth of darkness in each characters. The sex contains intense feeling and taboo that will make us shocked and hot in the same times. I thank this duo for the support group as a place for some scene that is too hard to digest.

There is some confusing moment where is there dual or triple POV for a scene. It makes the plot seem slow and back and forth. I prefer multiple POV but still continues move forward. I think some of the extras POV isn’t important and still can be use in main POV with a little twist. The ending is little ambiguous about the fate of Caesar and Svetlana which is can open many possibilities and made me curious about what happens next. Argh, I have to wait for the second book. I will not give much detail about this book. Make sure you’ve read all the warning from the author because trust me, this is not for the faint-hearted and weak stomach.

REVIEW BY ELLE

Oh, how should I begin this? I love kinky especially when it’s involve with dark and taboo romance. I’m so excited when I knew Priest is one of the most popular topic on my Facebook timeline. Since I read The Original Sinners by Tiffany Reisz, I can’t found another author who can write about kinky priest. Yum! Priest is my first read from Sierra Simone. But, damn… Although, I got multiple orgasms from this book, I don’t feel any sparks, like… at all (but kinky sex is awesome, LOL). I have to lower my expectations. Sigh.

Once upon a time, there is a priest name Tyler Ansem Bell or Father Bell. There is a mysterious woman who supposed to confessing and ask her penance instead being became Father Bell’s biggest temptation. When the heroine; Poppy Danforth came with red lipstick and magnetizing voice, it’s connecting to Father Bell’s instant boner. Oops! Since his first meet with Poppy, Father Bell seems love cold shower more than twenty times in two days. So, after the many temptation and teasing that he couldn’t avoid anymore, finally… BAM!

“God, I wanted to marry this woman
or collar her
or cage her;
I wanted to own her, make her, take her.” ~Father Bell

It seems our priest here like to cuss a lot. Poppy’s confessions more like reading a whole porno and give herself to silver platter in front of Father Bell’s boner and drooling mouth. Despite everything Father Bell has done over his guilty and self-doubt, he’s just a man who needs Poppy so much. Chapter after chapter is quickly turning them into fuck bunnies who in lust each other. I’ll tell ya! There will be so many hot and kinky fuckery *cough*. It seems the church doesn’t care and the problem doesn’t intense beside all the secrecy Father Bell had made.

Argh! I hate insta-love. There is no chemistry and real emotion between them. Suddenly, Father Bell pronounce that he can’t live without Poppy (or her pussy?). I found some positive things about Father Bell (sorry can’t spoiler), but our lost lamb; Poppy? Nah. She just happened to be beautiful (in his eyes) with high sex drive, rich and well-educated but never want to be trophy wife so she ran away. She bored with her life and chose to be a stripper in a gentleman’s club. Even she never have sex with her client, she desperately need to get laid. Wuut! There is one thing. Poppy like a stalker. She always appear everywhere our priest go. Uh huh…

“See? You need this. And I need this. I’ll take you to every place I’ve ever been and let you fuck me there, so you can rewrite my history as your history, if you want.” ~Poppy

Though, Poppy wanted to find something meaningful in her life, she just keep throwing her dirty confessions and lead them both into lusty damnation. Hey, don’t get me wrong. Man is a man, right? So, the rest until end after 80% is so cliché. At the end, miscommunication is always the biggest problem. After months, everything seems so oh-kay because, obviously they can’t keep each other hands… again *eye-rolling*

Overall, this book is well-written and somehow poetic so I kinda liked it. It felt new because the story told with man’s POV; Father Bell. I never feel intimidate with the Catholic’s background but I found it’s interesting. I give two thumbs up for the major smut aspect. This is erotica, right? Hmm… there is no BDSM involve here but only dirty-taboo-kinky sex. I agree to the point that somehow it’s hard to pull dark and forbidden romance into something sexy; not cheap and trashy 😉

If you don’t mind about taboo romance involve dirty-as-sin priest with so many sex… you can read this book out. Not for the faint heart, of course.
